Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County receives $100,000 grant from Micron Foundation to continue services amid COVID-19
(Boise – May 5, 2020) – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County received a $100,000 grant from the Micron Foundation for COVID-19 relief. Funding will go towards providing childcare for essential workers amid the coronavirus outbreak. Nearly 180 children a day are served at the organization’s seven locations throughout Ada County.

We are very excited to announce that we have welcomed a new member to our board of directors! Darin Driscoll acquired a technical degree from Universal Technical Institute in 1985, with an emphasis in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR). In 1994, Mr. Driscoll founded TVR Inc., an Idaho HVACR company located in and serving the Treasure Valley. Through hard work and perseverance, Mr. Driscoll grew TVR from a 1 employee operation into a thriving local business that now employs over 80 Idahoans and has a fleet of nearly fifty vehicles.
We are extremely humbled and honored to be the recipients of a $10,000 grant from Albertsons Boise Open. These funds will help us continue our mission to inspire and empower youth across Ada County to realize their full potential. Thanks to supporters like Albertsons, our members will be on track to further their education after high school; make smart, healthy decisions; and become productive, caring, and responsible citizens who give back to their communities.
Thank you to Boise Sunrise Rotary for generously donating $500 to support our Triple Play program. Triple Play, a game plan for the Mind, Body, and Soul, is a dynamic wellness program currently offered in Boys & Girls Clubs that demonstrates how eating right, keeping fit, and forming positive relationships add up to a healthy lifestyle.
We are so thankful for our community partners at Together Treasure Valley and Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area for giving hundreds of our members such an amazing experience! Together Treasure Valley is funding educational field trips that are an extraordinary opportunity for our kids.

Ninety percent of students in America will be at risk for potentially damaging summer learning loss. According to the National Summer Learning Association, summer learning loss is 1-3 months of lost academic skill and knowledge over the course of the summer. But this phenomenon won’t be happening at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County.
Brad Petersen, a professional educator and volunteer with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County has been volunteering his time for several months to teach Club members a science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum at both the Garden City and Meridian locations of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County.
GRANT FROM NAGEL FOUNDATION WILL PROVIDE MEALS AND EXPAND SPORTS OPPORTUNITIES AT THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB
Thanks to a generous gift from the John F. Nagel Foundation, members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County will have greater opportunities to develop healthy lifestyles through a before-school meal program and access to sports, particularly team sports like soccer, basketball and volleyball.
