Teens View Solar Eclipse at Bogus Basin | Boys & Girls Clubs Of Ada County

On Aug. 21, a total solar eclipse crossed over the state of Idaho, and a very lucky group of our teen members headed up to Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area for its great vantage point. Bogus Basin was just 3.7 miles outside the path of totality and still had 99.6% coverage!

A professor at College of Western Idaho gave a small lesson on the eclipse and our members were shown other ways to watch the eclipse if they didn’t have solar glasses. After the Eclipse, the members got to play on the new summer recreational activities like the tubing hill, rock climbing wall, and gem panning for an hour.

Thank you, Together Treasure Valley for supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County and Bogus Basin–two nonprofits working hard to give back to their communities. We are so thrilled and honored that you’ve given our teens a special once-in-a-lifetime experience they’ll never forget!
