Our Nutrition Director, Danny Stoddard, brings a truly impressive array of skills and experience to the Club. He has worn many hats over his 27-year career and has been: a Banquet Chef for Hale Koa Resort in Waikiki, Hawaiian; Executive Chef for a hospital; Certified Dietary Manager for Assisted Living, Nursing, and Retirement Communities; the Culinary Operations Manager for Truckee North Lake Tahoe Unified School District; the Kitchen Manager for the re-opening of the Famous Stage Coach Inn in Garden City; and the Opening Chef for Divine Wine Cork & Fork in Meridian. Danny has been a member of the American Culinary Federation since 1990. He began his career through the Walt Disney World Culinary Arts 3-year Apprenticeship Program from 1990-1993, where he logged 6,600 hours of intense training and stayed on as a full-time employee for 7 more years.
Chef Dan recently returned to Orlando this July to attend the ACF National Chefs Convention at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. This annual convention offers a wealth information in so many areas of the culinary field. He will soon be holding demonstrations at all of our Club sites to showcase what he learned, and to share the things he’s loved about his career over the last 27 years: “It is such a privilege to be able to help all the Club kids with their nutrition needs and to teach them how to make the right food choices that are best for their body mind, and soul.”
We are very blessed to have such a wonderful leader in our Nutrition Department who brings not just a vast wealth of knowledge, experience, and skills, but a true passion for teaching our kids how to eat well–a skill they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
