Go Steelheads! | Boys & Girls Clubs Of Ada County

For November’s #WeOwnFriday Teen Night, teens at the Meridian Club had a chance to cheer on our Idaho Steelheads as they took on the Colorado Eagles. Our friends at DrugFree Idaho sponsored a Natural High Night and we were able to take advantage of the opportunity to take our teens to a hockey game. We were also able to share our Natural High with the crowd via posters at our seats. Our choices included singing, bowling, skateboarding, and photography.

This was the first time most of our teens had ever been to a hockey game and they were all very excited! Jenica, 17, said, “”I don’t know anything about hockey, but this was really fun!” Admittedly, everyone seemed most excited to see some fights on the ice (legal in hockey!), but the rest of the game was just as exciting and action-packed. The game got off to a good start, but the Eagles soon took the lead. Our Steelheads fought back and managed to pull ahead in the third period. That didn’t last long though, and Colorado tied things up at the end of regulation. That meant overtime! Our teens were not upset to stay a little longer and get to watch a little more hockey! Unfortunately, the Steelheads were unable to pull off the win this time, but everyone is looking forward to more opportunities to cheer them on in the future.

Thank you, DrugFree Idaho, for providing such a great opportunity for our members to experience and share their Natural Highs!
