Our Hawthorne Summer Program on the Boise Bench kicked off its second week with an artistic field trip with Fire & Ice Mobile Pottery Studio. The children were able to express their creativity and paint some ceramic sculptures at Shoshone Park. Charlotte, one of the Club’s Youth Development Professionals joined in the fun:

“The kids were able to choose their own ceramic piece, and it was a really calming activity for them. They got to focus on painting and it was an awesome opportunity to use their creativity. The kids really enjoyed being able to choose different colors to paint with. It was special for them to be able to make their unique pieces that they will be able to take home with them as their own.”

Gavin, 8 says about the field trip, “It was good. I made a cat animal and we played on the playground. I painted it orange, with a brown stomach and tail and a blue nose.”
