Spin Top Physics

Last week in the Meridian Club’s STEM lab, members got to learn the science behind spin tops. A concept that actually requires an advanced understanding of physics was simplified so that kindergarteners through middle schoolers could understand what goes on when one of those notorious spinners is put into action.

Smart Girls Befriend Women at Boise State

Our Meridian Club recently wrapped up their Smart Girls program for our 2nd through 4th-grade girls. These girls participated in activities targeting self-confidence, a healthy lifestyle, media influence, and healthy friendships.

Family Night Ushers in the Holidays

The Moseley Center’s November Family Night kicked off the holiday season at the Club. With the support and partnership of Walmart Garden City, families were given a full Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings while the Garden City Police Department and Mayor John Evans, helped serve the dinner to over 200 Club members and their families.

STEM animal adventures at Northwest Nazarene

For their last meeting of their Super STEM program, Meridian Club members got to take a trip over to Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, where the head animal TA and some volunteers were waiting with snakes, an Argentine Tegu, and a myriad of other interesting amphibians.

Marshmallow sculptures

Members at the Meridian Club recently got to create some interesting marshmallow sculptures! Youth Development Professional, Rosa B., allowed them the freedom to get as creative as they wanted. The kids really seemed to enjoy the project and finished sculptures included campfire sites, kittens, and even flowers.
